Camden has a farmer's market every April-November. Scott took the kids most Saturdays last season, and I tagged along a lot of the time. You may remember that Addison and Fischer got lemonade and boiled peanuts each time as a special treat.

Last weekend was the first weekend for this season and we were ready to go check out the local produce. Addison and Fischer were ready for their "womanade" and peanuts and especially excited because there would be a bouncy house and a band there too!

The bouncy house ended up being way too crowded for their liking so that didn't last long at all. They did sit and listen to the band for a little while, and even danced a little bit too.

They also loved petting the ducks, chicks and rabbits that were there!

A lot of the same vendors are there and can't believe how big the kids have gotten just since November. Last season they rode in the wagon most Saturdays. This season, they get to walk on their own, which they are loving.

Last Friday, Scott was able to take a little time off in the morning so that we could take the kids to Toy Story on Ice!

Poor Fischer wasn't feeling well at all but we decided to go ahead and go.  When we got there, we all got a snack (hot dogs for the boys, and soft pretzels for the girls), and found our seats. We timed it pretty well so we didn't have to wait too long for the show to start.

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald were the first ones out on the ice.

And Fischer started crying immediately, saying he wanted to go home. He looked terrified. But after about a minute he stopped crying and got a little more into the show.

After Mickey and friends greeted everyone, the real show began. All of the characters from Toy Story were there and it really was a good show. Even Scott and I stayed interested the entire time!

The show lasted about 2 hours, which ran into lunch and nap time, so the kids were tired by the time it was over.  They did great though, and we will definitely be going to another show on ice whenever it comes to town!

The day before Easter, we went on a train ride at the SC Railroad Museum. This was one of the first rides of the season - The Easter Eggspress! :)

The kids were so excited to get on and go but they waited very patiently until it was time to board.

Fischer was SO excited!!

Once we were on, the ride lasted about an hour. It was cool and there was some pretty scenery along the way.

The kids started to get a little restless towards the end though.

The Easter Bunny was there too...but, he was quite a creepy looking bunny and Addison and Fischer wanted nothing to do with him. Can't say that I blame them.

Overall it was a fun time! I think next time we'd do the first class car so we could have some snacks along the way. :)

We had a pretty low key Easter at our house. The kids woke up and discovered that the Easter Bunny had been here.

Then later, we headed outside to do an Easter egg hunt. We (or, the bunny) hid the real eggs we'd dyed a couple of days earlier. We didn't hide any plastic eggs this time since they'd already done 2 hunts with those eggs filled with goodies.

Addison took a break at one point to give an egg a taste...

Once we were finished, we headed to the driveway and peeled all of the eggs so that we could have egg salad for lunch. Fischer wouldn't try it but Addison really liked it! She is such an adventurous eater and will try pretty much anything you put in front of her.

I mentioned that Fischer played some baseball while we were visiting my parents. Over the past couple of weeks, he has taken quite an interest in baseball! Having played softball for years, I would love it if he really got into baseball one day, but of course, I won't force anything on him. :)

So, last weekend, Scott and Fischer went on an outing and came home with some baseball necessities! We already had a plastic t-ball set, but thought it would be good to get some "real" stuff to practice with. Fischer got a new glove, a t-ball bat, a ball and a Gamecocks hat!

And, he looks adorable wearing his glove, holding his bat and wearing his hat! Also, he's actually quite good at hitting! He makes contact a lot and is holding the bat better and better!

Of course, Addison wanted to give the new stuff a try too. :)

On Friday, we dyed eggs for the first time with the kids and they had a great time! They weren't very patient though, so it didn't take long to dye 24 eggs... they were so anxious to take them out of the colors!

They each got 4 colors and 12 eggs.

They could hardly wait to get started! Addison had been asking for days to do this so she was quite ready!

I expected a mess, and they didn't disappoint in that department. :) Fischer even managed to stain his entire leg blue!

They were really excited about the finished eggs, and so proud of their work!

Scott was out of town most of last week so the kids and I headed to NC to see my parents. It was a short trip, but we had a great time!

We arrived on Monday and spent the afternoon playing. Fischer got to play a lot of baseball with Grandpa since he came home from work early.

Tuesday morning, while Grandpa was at work, we kept ourselves busy with Grandma! The morning was busy with an easter egg hunt and playtime outside.

Then we watched part of The Lion King while relaxing before lunch. After lunch Grandpa came home and we were ready for our big outing!

We headed to the Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill. It was small but the kids had a good time! Fischer enjoyed being a construction worker and a chef. He also really enjoyed the area that had a giant magnetic board where you could rearrange the tubes and send balls through them. There were several older kids playing in this area but that didn't bother Fischer at all - he jumped right in.

Addison played in the magnetic area a little bit and then ended up spending the majority of her time in the kitchen. She made us all kinds of food and refilled our tea and coffee cups many, many times.

After the museum we headed to a new playground that was really nice! I didn't take my camera to the playground but Grandpa got one of the kids on a tire swing.

The fun didn't end there! It was time for dinner, and the kids were very excited about getting some fried shrimp - one of their new favorite meals. I ordered some raw oysters as an appetizer... when they arrived, Addison picked one up off of the tray and ate it before any of us could stop her. We were sure she would spit it back out but she swallowed it, smiled and asked for another one!! She ended up eating 4 and was not happy when I cut her off!! A few minutes after, while we were waiting on our food to arrive, Fischer said "where's Sissy's lobster?" Apparently my kids have quite expensive taste! :)

We headed home Wednesday after lunch, but spent the morning playing. We went to the neighborhood playground for awhile. It is so weird to revisit places like that... we took the kids to this same playground a year ago and they weren't able to do much on their own. It has a lot of ladders and they just weren't able to climb them that well. This time, they were able to do everything on their own without any hesitation. They are growing and changing so much!

We had a great time and the kids were already asking to go back by the time we got home. And here is a picture of their living room after the kids arrived - it doesn't take long for them to wreck a room. :)

Last weekend when we went to the mall, Scott bought himself a pasta maker. It was supposed to be his Father's Day gift from last year and we just never went to pick one out. He was pretty excited to bring it home and try it out!

The kids, of course, wanted in on the action. They took turns turning the handle to flatten the dough, and then actually making the spaghetti noodles.

And that night, we got to eat the yummy noodles!  As usual, Addison is quite the serious eater. :)
