The tile in our master shower is done, and we love how it looks. We ended up using the same tile that's on the floors for the wall, and a slightly different one for the floor. The floor tiles had to be smaller, and we actually thought we'd be using the smaller one on the walls too. Our contractor advised against that though, saying it would have way too much grout that way and that the bigger ones would look better and be much easier to clean. So, we trusted him, and we are pleased with how it turned out.

They started putting in the hardwood floors today! The whole house except for the bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry room will be hardwood. We haven't picked a stain for them yet, but know it will be something dark. I'm anxious to get there and see it in person.

Our search for a granite that we love will continue this afternoon - keep your fingers crossed that we can find something because time is running out!

Things are still moving quickly on our new house! Here are some pictures from this past week. We are loving how the cabinets turned out, and I'm excited to see the tile in person. This week, they will paint (we finally made our final color choices), work on the decking, and I'm not sure what else.

Here are the cabinets in our master bathroom. They will be painted a dark brown and there will be one sink on each side.

The "boot box" under our window in the master bedroom... We will probably use this box for storing sweaters, blankets, etc...

Kitchen cabinets! These will be stained, but we haven't decided on a color yet. The island also has cabinets and drawers, which provides some extra storage space. The island will also be where the microwave and beverage center go.

They already put trash cans in the\is pull out cabinet for us. One less thing to buy later! Although being the Type-A person that I am, I may buy another white trash can because the two cans are different colors. I know, a minor detail, but it still bothers me!

The built-ins in the living room. The TV will go on the wall in the middle between the windows. The cabinets will be where we keep movies, our cable box, DVD player, etc... And, the fireplace is where the black square is.

The tile in our master bathroom. All 3 bathrooms, as well as the laundry room, will have this same tile.

The deck and screened porch! The stairs are coming off of the deck and will go into a fenced in yard. We will most likely put a baby gate at the top of the stairs incase we want to contain our curious little ones.

I mentioned that we recently went on a quick overnight trip to see my parents since Scott had a meeting nearby. While we were there, we went to a park that had several baseball fields. We took 2 little bats and some balls. Addison and Fischer liked chasing the balls, until they discovered the mud puddle. The puddle quickly became the highlight of the visit to the park. And, since we didn't have any extra clothes with us, they got to ride home in only diapers, which made Addison a little concerned. She said "No shirt?!" as if she was offended. :)

Here they are with their bats...

Here they are playing in the puddle.

Things have been pretty hectic around here! Starting Thursday, I worked at my Moms of Multiples Consignment Sale. I worked Thursday night, all day Friday and Saturday until about 2. Addison and Fischer got a lot of Daddy time, and I know they loved it! I did some shopping at the sale, and spent less than I made from what I sold, which is always nice. I got Addison and Fischer a lot of new stuff, all for great prices. I love finding deals!

Last week, Scott found out he was going to have a meeting Monday morning near my parents house. So, he asked if we wanted to tag along! We headed up Sunday morning and spent the night with my parents, then headed home Monday afternoon. It was short, but lots of fun. I have some pictures and a video (think splashing around in a mud puddle) from that trip that I will post soon!

So, like I said, it's been busy and I'm just now getting a chance to sit at my computer.

The house is coming along and Scott and I are going to have to start making some decisions very soon - paint colors, granite, cabinet stain, etc.... these decisions make me very nervous!  A lot of things are happening at the house. The cabinets are all being installed, and this week, the garage and porch concrete with be poured. They will also begin working on the deck, completing the trim work and starting the wainscoting! They are hoping to paint next week. We are so happy with how quickly things are going.

The kids have been doing and saying some funny stuff lately, so I will post more about that later. Also, we have a cat that has been living under our house, and we are fairly certain she's pregnant. We started feeding her when we figured out that she was pregnant. We've also figured out that she doesn't have front claws, which means she was someone's pet at some point in time.  So, we are watching out for her and on the look out for kittens. Never a dull moment around here....

Here are a couple cabinet pictures from today! The first picture is of the cabinets in the master bathroom, and the second is the laundry room.

I just have time for a few pictures today...

We are trying to decide what colors to use in our house. There are so many to choose from! Luckily, our builder told us we have to use Sherwin-Williams, so at least that was one decision made for us. We have it narrowed down to a certain family of colors (very neutral), but still haven't made our official choices.

Last week, Scott put some samples up at the house. Sunday night, as part of our date night (woohoo!) we went by the house to look at them. I didn't love the color we'd chosen for all of our living areas, so Scott put another sample up on Monday. I'm hoping to get there soon to take a look at that one. We've decided the colors for Addison and Fischer's rooms, as well as our room and our bathroom. We are getting there... once we've decided on all of them, I'll be sure to post the colors.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature gave us a surprise last night. We had a huge storm here and a tree fell on our brand new house. Luckily, the damage wasn't bad at all, according to our builder. We haven't gotten a chance to go look yet, but he didn't seem concerned at all. The power lines also came down, but that was fixed pretty quickly, so hopefully more progress was made on the house today! That's exactly why our power lines will be put underground once construction is complete.

The next big thing to be done is the cabinet installation. They should be in this week or next week. Yay!

In Addison and Fischer news, we took them to get their Hepatitis A shots yesterday. They were supposed to get them at their 2 year check up, but since Addison had the flu and Fischer was on an antibiotic, we decided to put them off. They did great until we went back into the room to wait on the nurse. Addison knew something was up immediately and became very clingy and tense. As soon as the nurse came in, they both freaked out because they saw the needles. Luckily it was quick, and they got "cool" band-aids and stickers, which seemed to help things. I'm glad we are done with shots for quite awhile!

I hope you are all having a good week!

I can't believe it's April!! This year is already flying by. Once again, I am falling behind on my posts. Here are a few random thoughts to sum up this past week's activities, etc... :

1.  6 years ago today, Scott and I got married...for the 2nd time! We got to have our big wedding on April 2, 2005. It was so fun and I have such great memories of that day!

2.  This past week was pretty rainy. I was worried about entertaining the kids but they did so well playing together and entertaining each other. I'm not sure I love anything more than hearing them make each other laugh!

3.  Addison is still allowing us to put bows in her hair. Most of the time she'll only let Scott put them in but I don't care! I'm just glad she's accepting the bows now. I ordered several on Etsy and I can't wait for them to come so Addison can model them.

4.  Fischer wants ketchup with everything. He also wants chicken nuggets for every meal. He's much pickier than he used to be, so it's getting more challenging to get him to eat his fruits and veggies. I may look into using some of Jessica Seinfeld's tricks - she has a cookbook that shows how to sneak vegetables into most meals.

5.  Speaking of fruits and vegetables... the other day Fischer told me he was hungry. Here is how the conversation went...
Fischer: I'm hungy!
Me: What do you want?
Fischer: Blueberries!
Me:  We don't have any of those.
Fischer: Points to the kitchen and says "Cook it!"

I just had to laugh!

6.  The house is still going smoothly! The doors are now installed and they look great. We are really liking the style of doors we chose!  The first picture is our front door. The door will eventually be stained. The second picture is the door going to the garage, but all of the interior doors look like this.

7.  Also, in house news, Scott and I met with an interior decorator last week because we really needed some guidance for choosing paint colors. With her help we chose several neutral colors. Scott went and got the samples and put them up at the house today. So, after we look at them during the day in different lighting, we'll decide if we like them and go from there.

That's about it for now. Oh, and Scott and I get to go on a date tomorrow night. We rarely get to do that, so I'm very excited! Thanks to Jim and Dianne for watching the kids for us!! :)
