As I mentioned, Saturday was Addison and Fischer's birthday party! We rented the Robert Mills Courthouse here in town and had a great time with family and friends.

I kept the decorations simple. I used red, yellow, blue, green and yellow table cloths, forks, napkins, cups and balloons. It made the room really bright and was perfect for a child's birthday party! The food was simple (but good!) too - Scott grilled hot dogs, made homemade baked beans and slaw, chips and cake!

Nixie, of Nixie Miller Photography, came and took pictures during the party. This was one of the best decisions I made because I didn't have to worry about taking pictures and could concentrate on other things. She got some great shots too. She's the one that took our family pictures in June and October, so it was great that she was already familiar with the kids.

Here come Addison and Fischer, ready to party!

We also had M&Ms and rainbow goldfish on each table (to follow the theme of bright colors). Fischer became addicted to the M&Ms after his first one... this pretty much sums up the party for him (we found him on the tables many times):

And after he was officially full of sugar:

Addison looked adorable in her tutu and loved watching herself in the mirror:

She also loved just sitting and taking everything in:

And here are a couple others:

She took close to 500 pictures, so this is just a small sampling, but I sure do love them!!

We had a great time at Addison and Fischer's birthday party yesterday. I will have some pictures to post soon.

But for today, I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to Scott! We have been married 7 years today - so much has changed in the last 7 years and I can't wait to see what the future has in store!

I hope you are all having a good weekend!

Things are busy around here since today is Addison and Fischer's 2nd birthday party. I can't believe they'll be two on Tuesday!!! I hope I don't get too emotional during the party.

We've had family and friends in town for the party so I've been staying busy with that, but wanted to do a quick house update.  Scott and I went over and walked around on Thursday (while his mom stayed here with the kids during nap) and they were working hard.  They were hoping to start the screened porch yesterday. I can't wait to see how that turns out.  While we were there, we had to answer some questions about Addison and Fischer's closets (they will have their own rooms). I think we got all of that worked out. Addison's room will be bigger than Fischer's but his has more character so we are hoping it all evens out. :)

Here are a couple of pictures from Thursday... The first is the living room area showing the cathedral ceilings. The second is the set of stairs they just completed on Thursday. If you turn left at the top of the stairs, you'll go into the play room. Fischer's room is on the other side of the play room. The bathroom is straight ahead and Addison's room is to the right.

I can't wait to see what happens next week!

More progress has been made on our house this week! These pictures were taken yesterday. Soon, they will be working on the screened porch, which I am very excited about!!

We had a low-key Valentine's Day. We never do anything big for this holiday, but I had to dress the kids in red! We also had a special Wendy's lunch - not the healthiest but it was a treat! And, the kids got their very own kids' meals for the first time - they've always split one up until now. They are eating so much more lately so we figured they could both eat 4 nuggets on their own. We were right. They also each ate their own cup of mandarin oranges and a couple of my french fries.

We are also noticing we have fewer and fewer leftovers after dinner at night. We are going through a lot of food, and I don't see it changing any time soon (and I still think it's cheaper than what we were spending on formula)!  But, I'm so thankful that we have such good eaters!

Here they are yesterday with their Daddy!

We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the great weather over the weekend! It's supposed to stay nice all week too. I'm definitely ready for some spring-type weather, but not at all ready for the summer heat.

We finally got some use out of the bike attachment we bought back in the fall (on clearance at Wal-Mart for $20!). Addison and Fischer had fun and kept saying "Ride bicycle?" Yesterday, we rode to a nearby park where they played on the slides for awhile.

Unfortunately, Addison suffered a minor injury on her lip while we were there. She was, of course, wearing a white cardigan and got blood on it. She was tough though and got back to playing very quickly.  And I, of course, took a picture to document the incident.

Today, we went to another park where they got to throw rocks and sticks into the pond. We also had a little picnic for snack time. And, of course, I forgot my camera today.

I do have pictures from yesterday though. It was Scott's job to pull them (at least 50 pounds plus whatever the trailer weighs)...I don't know that I would've been able to!

Yesterday afternoon, Scott took Fischer to get another hair cut. I've lost count of how many he's had! While they were doing that, Addison and I ran a few errands. It is so much easier running multiple errands with just 1 child in tow... I didn't even break a sweat! While we were out, we stopped at Wendy's for a little treat - and she loved her Frosty!

Once the boys were done, we all met at the lot to look at the progress on the house. It's really starting to look like a house now that the roof has been started.

We also completed our assignment and picked our the shower faucets and valves!

This will be in the master bathroom... We chose the venetian bronze finish to match all of the doorknobs and hinges that will be in the house.

This style will be in the guest shower and in Addison and Fischer's bathroom. Their bathroom will also have the tub faucet, which is not pictured. As if it were meant to be, the style name is "Addison." We picked the style before even looking at the name of it! These will also be in the venetian bronze finish.

I wonder what decision we will have to make next?!
