Last year,  I was spending my last night as a pregnant person... but didn't know it! I did have a lot of upper back and rib pain so we called the doctor. She said it was most likely because the babies were running out of room and to take two Tylenol and a warm bath. I did this and felt better and managed to go to sleep around 9:30.  Little did I know that in just 5 short hours, I'd wake up in full blown labor!

This year, we are all recovering from an awesome first birthday party. We had about 35 people here yesterday to celebrate Addison and Fischer's birthday.  We are all tired today, but it was so worth it. The babies did SO well - they hardly cried at all (Fischer mainly cried when I took him away from the cake). I was especially worried they'd cry when everyone was staring at them while we sang Happy Birthday. They just looked around and seemed to soak it all in. Then they got to eat cake, and they REALLY liked that. Afterwards, we hosed them off in the bathtub, then they got to mingle some more until the party ended.  We loved spending the day with family and friends and can't wait to do it again next year.

Instead of gifts, we asked for donations for the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston.  Although we didn't have to stay there when Addison and Fischer were born (we live close enough to the hospital), we met many parents who were staying there.  It's such a great organization and offers a home away from home for those who live far away from the hospital.  Our guests were so generous and brought so many donations!

My friend Melissa made all of our cakes - 2 bigger cakes and the 2 smash cakes.  Our whole party was a brown, pink and blue dot theme so the cakes were decorated accordingly! They were delicious, and adorable!! Addison and Fischer were pretty hyper last night from the sugar but they went right to sleep. I think they still had some sugar in their systems today because they seemed pretty hyper today too! :)

Here are some shots from the party... some of them are dark and I'm not quite sure why.

We are excited to celebrate their actual birthday tomorrow! At 4:30 and 4:31 am, Addison and Fischer will officially be 1! We can hardly believe it's been a whole year.

A few other updates:  We increased Addison's soy milk to 2 ounces per feeding today, and Fischer's whole milk to 3 ounces per feeding. So far so good with that! Fischer is saying "uh oh" a lot more, especially when he drops a toy.  They are also both saying the word "poop," which obviously makes us very proud. :)

Official Birthday Countdown:  1 DAY!!!!!!
