As I left off, after lunch we hopped in the car and drove the rest of the way to our final destination! Woohoo! We had about 3 hours left, and we were all ready to get there. The kids, and Lucy, did awesome on the last leg of the trip - they were such great little travelers.

Scott's mom was so nice to rent this condo for us. She stayed there too, so the kids got lots of quality Grandmommy time, which is always nice. It was the perfect size - 3 bedrooms, bathroom, living room, kitchen and 2 little decks. And, to make it even better, the front porch had a gate on it since the owner has young grandchildren of her own. This worked great for Addison, Fischer and Lucy!

Helen (Scott's mom) was waiting for us when we pulled in, and she helped us get everyone upstairs. It's amazing how much stuff we have to bring along just for a few days away from home. I try my best to pack light but it still ends up being a lot of stuff. (This picture is actually after we went to the beach, which is why their hair is wet).

The condo happened to be about 100 yards from the beach, so Addison and Fischer were instantly asking to go play in the sand. We lucked out because it was actually warm enough to put on their bathing suits and go play for awhile. The water was pretty cold, in my opinion, but that didn't stop them from getting wet. They had a great time and it was the perfect way to get their energy out.  Helen and I took both kids and Lucy down to the beach while Scott unloaded the car and got things set up inside, so I didn't get a chance to take any pictures while they were playing. Fischer made a new friend, Milo, though. He was a 4 year old with as much energy as Fischer so they had a great time playing together.

After beach time we headed back to the condo for some dinner. There was a little seafood place right up the road so Scott walked up there to pick up our dinner so we could just relax and eat at the condo. One of the main reasons for our trip was to visit with Scott's dad, who has been battling  cancer for the last year. He is doing so well and was finally up for a visit from us and the kids. Helen happened to know someone who owns that condo really close to John (Scott's dad) so it worked out so that we could spend some time with everyone. Although Scott's parents are divorced, we all spent a lot of time together and I know the kids loved having both grandparents together!  John came over to join us for dinner and we had a good time chatting and watching Addison and Fischer play. After dinner, Helen presented me with a birthday cake and some presents. Such a nice surprise (although she'd already told me about the cake) and it made me feel very special. And, Addison and Fischer are always excited when cake is involved.

Look at the view from the front porch from our first night there. So pretty!!

After some more play time, it was time for baths and bed. The kids went to sleep very quickly We are never sure how they will do in a new place so it was great that they slept just fine. Actually, we all slept great that night and woke up ready for another fun day in Delaware!
